Old 97's - Blame It On Gravity. 5 bucks, this weekend only. If you haven't bought music from Amazon, you should start. No DRM, they're raw .mp3's, so you're not locked into the iTunes quagmire, and the songs are often cheaper than iTunes, too.

I saw these guys a few years ago in Santa Cruz on one of the epic guys weekends - before all the losers decided to move out of town... and you losers know who you are. The Old 97's rocked, and they rocked hard.

Then I saw them a few years later in Hollywood. Same great energy, but they really brought the country funk with 'em. While I can deal with a little twang, when I pay to see a rock band, I don't want no banjo. I'm still apologizing to my brother-in-law for having to put up with that concert. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.

I'm now mixed on these guys, but maybe this album will help. At 5 bucks, it's now lower than my "I won't forgive the Hollywood concert" threshold and I'll give 'em another shot.
